Local artist Louise Rolt graduated with an MA in Constructed Textiles from the Royal College of Art in 2003, and in the same year won a scholarship to travel to Nepal to work on a project in the foothills of the Himalayas, an experience which sparked her passion for teaching and love of textiles. She has since spent many rewarding years teaching art and textiles to young people, whilst also making her own work.

A small selection of Louise’s beautiful work which has drawn upon objects in the Museum’s galleries as inspiration can now be seen on display in the Museum lift lobby area until 29 January 2019.
