OUTING: Barrow Clumps
6:00 pm, Tuesday, 15 July, 2014

Discover the amazing archaeology at Barrow Clump, a Bronze Age burial mound and Saxon cemetery. The site is being excavated by injured soldiers as part of Operation Nightingale

Time: 6pm to 7.30pm.

Directions and Meeting Point: from the A303 at Amesbury, drive north along the A345 crossing two roundabouts. After a few minutes (shortly after the national speed limit signs), turn right at the first tank crossing you come across (C crossing) - be aware that military vehicles use this track. Follow this track until you come to a crossroads, turn left and then take the next right, an uphill track. At the top of the hill is a car parking area.

We will meet here at 6pm and then walk to the site, a 15 minute walk across a field.

Limited spaces are available at the site for those with walking difficulties - please let us know when booking.

If you are unable to attend this event, an open day as part of the Festival of Archaeology is being held on Saturday 19 July between 11am and 4pm.

Tickets: 12 (10, WANHS members). A donation will be made to Care for Casualties.
