Holed Flint

Holed Flint
This tough mineral forms naturally in the chalk from deposited silica (glass) and quite often takes on odd shapes, some of which had holes. To those that found them lying on the surface of the chalk however, they were obviously magical. A large stone hung over a stable door would prevent witches from stealing your horses and riding them all night, a small one peered through would let you see the fairies.
