A Saturnalia Celebration

SOLD OUT. To be added to the waiting list email hello@wiltshiremuseum.org.uk. 19/11/24

Join us at Wiltshire Museum as we celebrate the Ancient Roman winter festival of Saturnalia!

Make your own sigillaria (a small clay figurine once given as a gift), learn about the foods the Ancient Romans might have eaten and have a go at some of the games they might have played as they feasted.

Enjoy a glass of spiced wine with us as folklorist, Claire Slack, takes you on a trip back to winter's long ago through history, story and craft.

This session is for adults only (18+). Non-alcoholic options will be available on the night.

Please note: celebrations will not be quite as wild as their Ancient Roman equivalent!

Tickets: £10 (£8 WANHS members) – booking essential, only 20 tickets available.

Time: Start 6.30 pm (doors open 6.15 pm)

Location: Wiltshire Museum

Accessibility:  The activity will take place in the Museum's lecture hall, located on the first floor.  This is accessible via a platform lift.  More details about accessibility can be found here.

Parking: there is a small car park to the rear of the Museum buildings.  Please park with care and consideration to ensure as many vehicles as possible can use the space.
