Boles Barrow on Salisbury Plain is one of the most enigmatic and interesting of Neolithic monuments.
A long barrow excavated four times and linked to prehistoric combat victims, Siegfried Sassoon, bluestone, and the first documented use of a trowel in British archaeology! This talk will draw together the results of new excavations in 2023 & 2024 with those of the 19th Century and link with recent archival discoveries made at the Wiltshire Museum.
