Overpaid, oversexed, and under Aldbourne? Digging D-Day’s ‘Band of Brothers’ – Richard Osgood (MoD)
‘Easy Company’, the American paratroopers also known as the ‘Band of Brothers’, is one of the best-known Allied units involved in the D-Day landings. Less well known is the fact that they trained for the campaign in Wiltshire. This talk will look at the 2019 excavations of the American camp site, the finds made and the traces of the American soldiers that still can be found around this idyllic village.
