Digital Curious Kids: Zoom like an Egyptian

Prior to lockdown we were really enjoying hosting our Curious Kids sessions for under 5’s and their grown ups. We have missed all those eager faces!

This half term we want to offer our loyal regulars, and any new Curious Kids, the chance to engage with the museum and get creative as a family, via Zoom!

This first session will be inspired by our “Out of Egypt” Exhibition from Hampshire Cultural Trust.

The session will be 30 minutes rather than 50 and will be broken up into short sections, to focus on your interaction, rather than attention to the screen.

Following a similar structure to our in-museum sessions, the digital sessions will be led by Sarah Gregson, our Community Curator.

• The Curiosity Song
• A story,
• A quick make activity
• A look at some Egyptian objects
• A craft activity
• A show and share for all participants to celebrate their creativity.

This session is ideal for children ages 2 to 5 (including reception aged children) and, if you have older siblings, they are more than welcome to join in. You are also very welcome to join in if you are now over 5!

Working together via Zoom
This is a session for children and adults to work together and we ask that children in the Zoom session, always have an adult nearby for the duration. Participants will be able to see the other families taking part but chat functions will be switched off and you will be asked to mute yourself for some parts of the session. The session will be password protected and supervised at all times by museum staff. (Our Zoom safety measures are available on request)

Booking
Book a free ticket for your family (see below) and we will send you the link and password for the Zoom session. A donation would be very welcome though!
