EVENING LECTURE: Following Druids to the Pub: Ethnography, Ethics and Belief at Historic Sacred Sites in England, by Claire Slack

This talk will draw upon ethnographic studies undertaken at Coldrum Long Barrow, Glastonbury Tor and All Cannings Long Barrow as we delve into the challenges (and celebrations) of ethnographic study at under explored sacred sites in Britain. This talk will explore ethnography, ethics and belief, taking conversations around spirituality, folklore, heritage and conservation into open-access long barrows, holy wells, historic buildings and natural sites across England.

Claire Slack is a folklorist who is currently studying for her Professional Doctorate in Heritage at the University of Hertfordshire. She is also the Project Engagement Officer at Wiltshire Museum.

An event linked to our Un/Common People: Folk culture in Wessex exhibition.
