The Borough of Swindon is justly famous for its rich railway industrial history; over the last 30 years excavations in advance of developments have shown that the area around Swindon also had a rich industrial past in the Roman period. This presentation will look at the resourcing and manufacturing of building materials, pottery and iron production.
