Call for Presentations: The Great War in Wiltshire Conference

Showcasing recent research to mark the centenary of the First World War

Saturday 1 December at the Tidworth Garrison Theatre

Organised by Wiltshire Museum and the Defence Infrastructure Organisation

Call for Presentations, poster displays and stands.

Over the last few years a great deal of research has been undertaken in Wiltshire on the First World War. This has ranged from excavations of practice trench systems to researching local war memorials and different aspects of the home front.  To mark the centenary of the end of the First World War we are hosting a conference to bring together and showcase the findings of some of these amazing projects and research.

We are now opening a call for conference presentations, poster displays and stands on research undertaken within or associated with Wiltshire. Please complete the form below.

Proceeds from the event will support Breaking Ground Heritage – the archaeology military charity. This facilitates access to heritage for wounded military personnel as part of their recovery process and includes participation in the excavation of First World War sites.

The conference is being organised by the Wiltshire Archaeology Field Group, the Wiltshire Museum and the Defence Infrastructure Organisation.

Tickets and further information will be available soon.
