Wiltshire Museum is now open and we are delighted to welcome you back. Initially we are open on Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays, 10am to 4pm (closed 1-1.30pm). Entry will be by pre-booked tickets only.
In recent weeks we have been making some changes to ensure we can offer our visitors a comfortable and enjoyable time. This includes limiting the number of visitors in the premises to ensure a safe and stress-free visit and pre-booked timed entry tickets will have to be purchased in advance. Entry to the shop remains free, but a face-covering must be worn from 24 July (recommended but not mandatory for the galleries). Please follow the queueing system introduced for the safety of staff, volunteers and visitors.
Wiltshire Museum has achieved the Visit England COVID-19 Industry Standard, confirming we have followed government and industry COVID-19 guidelines, ensuring processes are in place to maintain cleanliness and aid social/physical distancing.
The whole of the Museum is open, but we have introduced a one-way system and (regrettably) removed or closed all our child-friendly interactives. There is however, a ‘can you spot’ activity in each gallery for all ages to enjoy.
Our Archive and Library remains closed and we are not yet able to deal with any collections research. We hope to resume these activities in the early autumn. We would also ask that any general enquiries or object identification enquiries be submitted via email in the first instance – firstname.lastname@example.org – until all our staff return from furlough leave.
Thank you in advance for your co-operation and understanding.
