WALK: Ansty, Wardour and Swallowcliffe – a Hidden Wiltshire walk

A 5-mile afternoon walk from Old Wardour Castle to Swallowcliffe

Starting at the historic Old Wardour Castle, this walk takes us through lots of local woodland to Ansty, with its 13th Century church build by the Knights Hospitallers. From here we head uphill for some stunning views across Swallowcliffe Down, before heading into the village of Swallowcliffe.

Date: Monday 26 August

Start time: 2pm. Walk is expected to last approx. three hours. 5 miles.

Meeting Point and Parking: Park in the main car park outside Old Wardour Castle where we will meet.

  • Stout footwear, protective clothing to suit the prevailing weather conditions and reasonable mobility will be required.
  • Please ensure that you bring water and snacks; this is particularly important in hot weather.
