A 7-mile walk around Fonthill Lake and local villages.
This route takes us through the picturesque countryside on both sides of Fonthill lake, through the villages of Fonthill Gifford, Fonthill Bishop and Ridge. As we walk, learn about the colourful history of the estate and its eccentric previous owner, William Beckford.

Date: Monday 27 May
Start time: 12 noon.
Length and Time: 7 miles. Hidden Wiltshire walks usually take 3 to 5 hours depending on the length of walk, terrain and weather.
Meeting Point and Parking: Park at the south end of the lake. The road south from Fonthill Bishop ends just before the Beckford Arms, and there is parking available along the roadside. Meet outside the Beckford Arms for the starts of the walk.
