Summary: 24 black and white photographs of Devizes, Wiltshire. (1 - 5 The Market Place), 1 - view of the fountain with car in left foreground c. 1920's, 2 - view of the Corn Exchange, Market Cross and fountain, 3 - the Market Cross, 4 and 5 - similar views of the Corn Exchange and Bear Hotel. 6 - the stone pillared gateway to Roundway Park looking down Quaker's Walk, the lodge can be seen in the left midground. 7 - view down Quaker's Walk. 8, 9 and 10 - three similar views of Devizes Castle from the railway bridge, the railway can be seen in the right fore to midground with the castle in the left background, Mr King's nursery garden can be seen in the left foreground. 11 and 12 - similar views of the Castle Gate looking down the drive. 13 - view of Hartmoor Lane, a row of terraced cottages can be seen in the right midground.14 - exterior view of St Mary's Church looking towards the church, across the graveyard.15 - exterior view of St John's church featuring the stained glass window. 16 - view of St John's Almshouses from the graveyard of the church, Devizes Castle can just be seen in the left background. 17 - Shanes Castle looking along the road to Devizes, a delivery cart can be seen in the left midground and a boy pushing another delivery cart in the right midground. 18 - view down Dunkirk Hill. (19 - 22 The Kennet and Avon Canal), 19 - Canal Bridge, 20 - view of a light barge on the canal, three workmen on board, possibly clearing weed from the canal, 21 - lock gates on the canal, possibly the bottom gate of the Caen Hill lock flight, 22 - view of an industrial barge moored below a set of lock gates, various peices of machinery, of unknown use, can be seen on deck. 23 and 24 - exterior views of untitled houses in Devizes.
