Summary: 26 black and white photographs of members of the Richards family of Devizes. 1 - Great Grandma Richardt who worked at Devizes prison. 2 - the son of great grandma Richardt. 3 - family group, great grandma Richardt on left, her son on right, children Elizabeth, Alec and Kathleen Richards standing at front of group. 4 - Aunt Jetta Seward, mother of Christine and Gesine. 5 and 6 - Mr and Mrs Richards, Kath and Gesine (Mrs Ed Plank). 7 - Mr and Mrs Richards, Kath, Gesine and unknown male standing beside two motor cars. 8 and 9 - Mrs Richards, (8) at The Nursery, Devizes, standing beside a motor car holding a dog on a lead and (9) standing in a garden. 10 - Mr and Mrs Alec Richards. 11 - Mr and Mrs Alec Richards, Kath and Gesine. 12 - four of Mr and Mrs A Richards Snr's children on the occasion of Mrs Rosina Kerley's 90th birthday. The photograph shows Mrs Kerley on the right with her brothers, Mr Richards on the left and Alec Richards 2nd right and their sister Miss Richards in front. 13 - horse drawn travelling shop, the first travelling hardware shop to ply the streets of Devizes, belonging to Mr A G Richards, horse drawn before the acquirement of a motor vehicle. 14 - Mr A G Richards with his mobile hardware shop c. 1930's. 15 - Mr A G Richards in front of his hardware shop at 22, The Nursery, Bath Road, Devizes, 1930. (Now the site of flats). 16 - Mr Alec Richards outside W H Smith, Devizes. 17, 18 and 19 - views of "Avalon", Bath Road, Devizes, the family home, (17) large tree, (18) "Avalon", (19) Kath and Gesine in the garden at "Avalon". 20 - Miss Gesine Seward. 21 - group photograph, "Third time winners of the Shield for Singing in Devizes 1934", Kath Richards is in the 2nd row, 2nd left, (Gladys Rosalie Child, back row, 2nd left, R Stewart Child, front row, 4th left). 22,23,24 and 25 - family photographs, identities unknown. 26 - an organ. This organ was built by an uncle of Kath and Gesine Richards for a Devizes church.
