Summary: 16 black and white photographs of weddings in Froxfield, Wiltshire. 1 - the wedding of Mr and Mrs Oliver Alexander in the 1930's, taken in the garden of Mr Dobson's cottage, guests include Mr John Dobson (back row left), Mr Joseph Gallagher (back row, middle), Mrs Ellen Gallagher with children Alec and Eileen (middle row, left), the bride's mother, Mrs Dobson (middle row, second right) and Mrs Sarah Alexander, the groom's mother to the left of the groom. 2 - the wedding of Mr Donald Alexander, son of the previous couple, taken in May 1955, the bride is Mary Smith of Marlborough, best man Gordon Tucker also of Marlborough and the groom's parents Elsie, first left and Oliver, second right. 3 - the wedding of Mr Alec Gallagher to Betty Talmage of Ramsbury, Elsie Gallagher, the groom's sister, is the bridesmaid standing beside the bride, the groom's grandparents, Mr and Mrs Henry Alexander, both first left in back and middle rows, his parents Mr and Mrs Joseph Gallagher, on the groom's right and his brother-in-law, Arthur Hammerton, back row, second left. 4 - the wedding of Brenda Hatter to Henry Hart of Hungerford, George Hatter, the bride's brother is on her left with their mother beside him. 5 - the wedding of Michael Kington to Sylvia, pictured here with the vicar, Canon Dr. H. L. Philip. 6 - the wedding in 1941 of Reginald and Hilda Naish, (back row, left to right), John Rawlings, Les Naish, groom and bride, Sid Stroud and Ivy Stevens, sister of the bride, (front row, left to right), Kath Naish, Mrs Harry Naish, Juma Stroud, Michael Stevens, the bride's nephew, Sarah Stroud, bride's grandmother, Hannah Stroud and Aunt Maggie Stroud. 7 - the wedding of John Rawlings to Mary Naish in the early 1940's, (left to right), Reg and Kath Naish, brother and sister of the bride, groom and bride and Fred Chapman, brother-in-law of the groom. John Rawlings, a gunner in the RAF, was killed when his 'plane was shot down over Holland in World War II. 8 - the wedding of Reg Pike to Mary Naish, bridesmaid Sylvia Norris is on the left and the bride's mother and brother, Les are on the right. 9 and 10 - the wedding of Sylvia Norris to Edward Evans, 16th June 1956. 9 - the bride arriving at the church with her father, Fred Norris. 10 - the wedding party, bridesmaids Mary Naish (Mrs Pike), Susan Nicholas (Mrs Hodges) and Angela Norris (Mrs Hawkins), Mr and Mrs Norris are on the right. 11 - the wedding of Sidney Pike to Lena in 1920, the groom's father, George Pike, seated first right, his wife, seated second left, Harry Pike, the groom's brother, standing first left with their sister Margaret and her daughter, Irene. 12 and 13 - the wedding of Doug Povey to Rhoda Farr, 23rd November 1940. 12 - the bride and groom with bridesmaid Kathleen Radbourn. 13 - bride, groom and bridesmaid with Mr Farr, the bride's father and Flory (Nan) Farr. 14 - the wedding of Joan Scott to Amos Roberts, left to right, groom's sister, Bob Pike, groom and bride, groom's sister and Sid Huntley. 15 - "Going Away", the newly married Mr and Mrs Ron Scott with their chauffeur for the wedding, Vic Heaver. 16 - the wedding of Iris Stroud, Mrs Nell Johnson (nee Stroud) is the bridesmaid on the left and Mrs D Richardson (nee Naish) the bridesmaid on the right, the little bridesmaid is Rita Morley, now Mrs Brown.
