Description

Summary: 1 body sherd in a medium fabric with sparse white inclusions up to 2mm in length, with a smooth dark brown interior, and a dark brown exterior decorated with short vertical stab marks between parallel horizontal lines, found in cutting V of the E-W section in disturbed material between stone holes 43-44, from West Kennet Long Barrow, Avebury, Wiltshire, excavated by Professor Stuart Piggott and his staff and students at the Department of Prehistoric Archaeology at the University of Edinburgh, 1955-56.1
