Description

Summary: 1 body sherd in a medium fabric with sparse white inclusions up to 2mm in length and a black internal fabric, with a smooth red/brown interior, and a red/brown exterior decorated with finger nail impressions in two bands, found in the layer of burials in the north west chamber, from West Kennet Long Barrow, Avebury, Wiltshire, excavated by Professor Stuart Piggott and his staff and students at the Department of Prehistoric Archaeology at the University of Edinburgh, 1955-56.1
