Research results

A small collection of flint, comprising of 6 flakes of debitage, excavated by Paul Ashbee from Beckhampton Road Long Barrow in 1964. Unfortunately, any note indicating the original context of these flints had been lost, however the original publication of the excavations in 1979 describes six flakes as being found within the fill of the round barrow ditch, and it is likely that these are those flints. The round barrow ditch cuts through the long barrow mound, and as such, these flints could relate to either the neolithic or bronze age activity on the site.
