Identification note: an identical copper-engraved view of the church was published by Joseph Ellis in 1761 from a drawing by E Dore; this may be the original watercolour by Dore or a copy made from the print by another artist

Identification note: catalogue card has "Much in the style of the Buck brothers" on the back

Summary: Framed vivid watercolour painting of the South East View of Steeple Ashton Church, depicting details of the architecture and decoration including sundial above the main entrance but no distractions in either foreground or background.
