All the shop windows are boarded up, bunting and flags decorate the buildings with one bearing the sign "God save the Queen". A large throng of people, men, women and children, are present in the Market Place and seem to be starting to gather together for, what appears to be, a march. Four banners can be seen in the midground, beside an horse-drawn charabanc full of people. More groups of people are on the periphery of the main group.
