Fonthill Abbey, Wiltshire, view from South (etchingaquatint)

Description

Identification note: On the print itself the artist is given as "H Gartinean" but I have assumed,in view of Gastineau's other work on Fonthill, that this is an error, and Gastineau is the correct version. The catalogue card also has the date 1820 on it, but this does not appear on the print, so I have omitted it VN

Identification note: catalogue card has "Inscribed - To William Beckford Esq. the founder of this splendid Mansion" on the back

Summary: coloured aquatint, Fonthill Abbey, view from South, drawn by H Gastineau from a sketch by T Higham, engraved by R Havell and Son, pub. by R Havell, Tottenham Court Road, 1st July 1823
