Description

Summary: 1 body sherd in a medium fabric with sparse white inclusions up to 2mm in length, with a smooth red/brown interior, and a red/brown exterior decorated with bird bone impressions, found in the layer of burials amongst paving stones (base of layer 5) in the north west chamber, from West Kennet Long Barrow, Avebury, Wiltshire, excavated by Professor Stuart Piggott and his staff and students at the Department of Prehistoric Archaeology at the University of Edinburgh, 1955-56.1
