base angle sherd

Description

Summary: 1 base angle sherd in a fine dark brown fabric with sparse white inclusions up to 3mm in length, the red interior smooth, the exterior decorated with scattered v-shaped incisions, found in the humus layer in cutting V of the fengate group, from West Kennet Long Barrow, Avebury, Wiltshire, excavated by Professor Stuart Piggott and his staff and students at the Department of Prehistoric Archaeology at the University of Edinburgh, 1955-56.
