Description

Summary: Unframed, mounted watercolour and ink drawing of Stonehenge, with two horses and four people standing beside one of the great trilithons. 18th Century English School. Unsigned and artist unknown. Written on the mount in pencil, 'Stonehenge, Wiltshire'. The same scene is depicted in a painting published in Christopher Chippendale's, 'Stonehenge Complete', 1987. This painting is dated Decemember 1790.
