Summary: 20 waste flakes, from Bishops Cannings G76, Wiltshire.

Research results

A small assemblage of 20 flakes of debitage, excavated by Paul Ashbee from Beckhampton Road Long Barrow in 1964. Unfortunately, any note indicating the original context of these flints had been lost. The original publication, in 1979, discusses the flint from the long barrow mound and pre-mound surface together and it is likely that the two had already become mixed by that time. Between them, this group and DZSWS:1965.13.120 contain 47 flakes of debitage, and it is likely that they represent one or a mix of the 39 flakes found in the barrow mound and pre-mound surface, as well as 8 flakes found below the pre-mound surface. A core discussed within the publication does not seem to be present within the surviving archive.
