Summary: 21 black and white photographs, 2 colour prints of the Littlecote Estate, it's events, grounds and people, Froxfield, Wiltshire. 1-6 - the Hirsch wedding, early 1900's, pre 1914. 1 - the bride and groom with their ten bridesmaids, a gentleman is standing at the back on the right, possibly the bride's father? 2 - the display of wedding presents. 3 and 4 - identical photographs of the wedding breakfast laid out in the Great Hall. 5 - the nautical themed wedding cake with battleship cake topper. 6 - an awning erected in the garden for the wedding. 7 - Oliver Alexander (l) and Arthur Dixon (r), smartly dressed outside the gates. 8 - Littlecote football team 1931-32, (back row standing, civilian clothes), G Wells, F Pike, J Tarrant, C Brown, A Fey Snr., J MacKlintock, (back row standing, football kit) E Fey, G Rolfe, K Nicholas, L Butler, J Rawlings, (front row, sitting) F Winniatt, N Martin, Major G Wills, S Noon, A Rolfe, (kneeling and sitting on ground) P Westall, F Chapman, W Dance, D Povey. 9 and 10 - cricket, 8th July 1928. 9 - four members of the Littlecote cricket team, (l-r) E Hayes, A Hughes, Edgar Dixon and Jack Povey. 10 - match in progress, Littlecote v. Benham Park. 11 - Littlecote hosting the local WI in 1937, E Gallagher can be seen in fancy dress, at the door, on the right, Maggie Stroud is on the extreme left, Mrs Stroud and Mrs Alexander are also in the group.12 and 13 - grand fete. 12 - stalls, cart rides and the maypole can be seen in front of the house. 13 - many people attending the fete. 14-16 - three views of the car YV 2680 in front of Littlecote house. 17 - the Chapel, taken in the early 1900's, looking down the rows of pews towards a prie-Dieu. 18 - the Orangery, taken early 1900's. 19 - the lilly pond in the gardens of the house.20 - looking along the stream that runs at the bottom of the gardens. 21 and 22 - aerial shots of the house and grounds. 21 - the house set in landscaped lawns, surrounded by trees, the extensive kitchen gardens can be seen to the right and left behind the house. 22 - colour print, a more recent shot, less trees and no kitchen or formal gardens to be seen. 23 - colour print of an aerial shot of the archaeological dig in progress to uncover the Roman mosaic beneath the park.
