iron nail

Description

Summary: 1 Roman iron nail, flat head, shaft square in cross-section tapering at end. Object has been intentionally bent at a right angle two thirds along the shaft and may have been used as a key. From the Iron Age settlement at Casterley Camp, Upavon, Wiltshire. Excavated by Mr and Mrs B H Cunnington, 1909-1910.
