Description

Summary: 1 rim fragment from a large pottery vessel of red ware with the surface finely polished inside and out, decorated with a ribbon or strap like pattern formed by a roughly circular punch mark between incised lines, these lines were probably arranged in chevrons aroud the vessel between the neck and shoulder., from the early Iron Age settlement at All Cannings Cross Farm, All Cannings Cross, Wiltshire. Excavated by Mr B H Cunnington and Mrs M E Cunnington, 1911-22.
