Description

Summary: A copper alloy Tournai jetton dating to the mid 15th century. Obverse depicts a crown and the reverse a triple stranded straight cross fleuretty in a four arched tressure. The legend on the obverse reads PIERAR DVRAR ENNELIER. Pierar Durar is known not only for his jettons but also as a maker of a whole range of small metal objects. He describes himself here as a ring maker. Found in Luckington in 2016.
