Summary: 1 colour copy and 33 black and white photographs of the inhabitants and their trades in Froxfield, Wiltshire. 1 - colour copy, Mr Leslie Naish, former gardener at the Old Rectory and his display of dahlias. Black and white. 2 - P.c. Mitchell, first police motorcycle patrol in 1932. 3 - Mrs Rosier, the local District Nurse, at the gate of her home in Bath Road. 4 and 5 - Mr Jack Chapman, petrol pump attendant, at work at the petrol filling station west of the village. 6 - Mr Brown of Littlecote Park Farm, farm bailiff for the Littlecote Estate, sitting in the car he was trying to sell for £215. 7 - Mr (Dobbin) Hatter, The Collage porter. 8 - Mr Jim Hedges, gamekeeper to Mr Tom Redman at The Manor, early 1900's. 9 - Mr Jasper Chapman, the village blacksmith. 10 - four blacksmiths outside the forge at the eastern end of The Green, George Wells, George Hatter, Sid Pike and Jasper Chapman. 11, 12 and 13 - Mr Oliver Alexander, Master Thatcher, at work. 14-18 - Manor Farm. 14 and 15 - Mr Tom Hunter, with cow and with dog. 16 - Mr Tom Hunter, Mr Joe Gallagher, Mr Leonard Stroud and an unknown man, in the fields at harvest time. 17 - Mr Ken Morley riding on top of the straw bales. 18 - agricultural employees, including Mr Leonard Stroud, Mr Tom Luker, Mr Stan Heath and Mr Tom Hunter, the third and fith gentlemen from the left are German prisoners of war. 19 - 22 - Green Farm. 19 - Mr Ken Morley in the farm yard. 20 - cattle in the yard. 21 - Mr Harry Alenander and Mr S Savage on the horse-drawn binder, Mr W Coldridge, Littlecote keeper, is in the background. 22 - Mr Savage's herd of cows grazing in the watermeadows. 23 and 24 - Oakhill Farm. 23 - the large thatched barn, c. 1935 with horse, cart, pigs, chickens, man and boy at Oakhill farm, owned by Mr King. 24 - the farm buildings c. 1952. 25 and 26 - Littlecote Estate. 25 - Mr Jack Povey and Mr Charlie May sitting on the tractor and binder during the harvest. 26 - Mr and possibly Mrs Raizey on the binder. 27-34 - general agricultural scenes. 27 - a horse pulling a hay filled cart. 28 - harvesting, Alec Cooper holds the horse, Mr Charlie Mildenhall is on the cart and Mr Bill Holmes is passing up the hay. 29 - rick making, Mr Jim Holmes unloading the horse-drawn cart. 30 - Mr Ken Morley driving a tractor on Mr Savage's farm c. 1950's. 31 - tree felling in Savernake Forest, Mr Charlie May (driver) and Mr Stan Holmes. 32 - Mr Henry Mildenhall on a tractor with Mr Harry Alexander behind the machine. 33 - possibly Mr Doug Povey taking a break from threshing. 34 - Mr Doug Povey and tractor at North Standing, June 1958.
