Afternoon workshop – Relaxed Session (Suggested age 6 – 11) Must be accompanied by an adult). 1pm – 2.30pm
Ancient Egyptian Art and Craft Workshop. This session is offered with those on the autism spectrum in mind. This is a chance for children on the autism spectrum, and their families, to join us for school holiday fun in a relaxed and understanding environment. Find out about mummification, create Egyptian amulets, mummies and write in hieroglyphics.
Our Long Room, next to our lecture hall, will act as a quiet breakout space if anyone needs time out. We limit numbers for this session to keep the environment manageable for those with sensory needs. Staff and volunteers on this session have attended autism awareness training.
We suggest ages 6 to 11 as a guide, but the needs and abilities of children who might want to attend a relaxed session will vary hugely. If you have any questions about the suitability of the session for your child, please contact firstname.lastname@example.orgDon’t forget to download our visual story (Visual Story – PDF) to prepare for your visit
